【探究レポート】WONDER Time at Shujitsu

就実小学校のWONDER Time（個人探究）は、児童が自分の興味や関心を探究し、幅広い探究スキルを伸ばしていく特別な時間です。年間を通して、児童はより深い問いを立て、思考ツールを使って分析し、創造的なアイデアを生み出し、情報を収集・整理するための効果的な方法を選択する力を身に付けていきます。

WONDER Time では、児童一人ひとりが自分のテーマに合わせて主体的に学び、思考力を育んでいます。その取り組みは多岐にわたります。

• ある児童は、社会課題の探究として、県の男女共同参画センターの専門家にインタビューを行いました。

• 別の児童は、キャビンアテンダントとして働いていた保護者にインタビューを行い、職業理解や実社会でのコミュニケーションについて探究しています。
• 4年生の児童は再結晶化に関する実験を行い、温度や素材の違いが結晶の生成にどのような影響を与えるかを比較しました。

これらは、校内で進められている多様な探究活動の一部にすぎません。年度が進むにつれ、児童たちの WONDER Timeでの探究テーマがどのように深まり、広がり、新たな学びへとつながっていくのか、私たちは大きな期待を寄せています。

At Shujitsu, WONDER Time is a unique opportunity for students to explore their curiosity and develop a wide range of inquiry skills. Throughout the year, they learn to ask deeper questions, use thinking tools for analysis, generate creative ideas, and choose effective methods for collecting and interpreting data.

Each student follows their own interests, taking ownership of their learning and growing as confident, independent thinkers. During WONDER Time, the themes and approaches vary widely:
• One student conducted an interview with specialists from a prefectural gender equality center as part of an inquiry into social issues.
• Another student interviewed a parent working as a cabin attendant, exploring careers and real-world communication.
• A fourth-grade student designed experiments on recrystallization, comparing how temperature and different materials influence crystal formation.

These examples reflect only a small part of the diverse investigations happening across the school. As the year continues, we look forward to seeing how students’ WONDER Time projects deepen, broaden, and inspire new pathways of learning.
