【オーストラリア研修】Day2

Our school trip to Australia is off to a fantastic start! Upon arrival at Brisbane Airport, students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Jenks and Ms. Addley. The flight from Narita to Brisbane was smooth, and despite the plane being full, our students stood out for their exemplary conduct and communication.

Other passengers and cabin attendants praised them for their politeness and manners. The first adventure of the day was a tour on the Aquaduck, where students were guided through the stunning waterscape surrounding Surfers Paradise. They were fascinated by the luxurious architecture and impressive yachts in the bay.Lunch at Hog’s Breath Cafe was a hit, with everyone enjoying a delicious meal.

Afterward, we visited the Q1 Tower, where students marveled at the breathtaking view of the Gold Coast from 220 meters above sea level. They had fun identifying familiar places, including our sister school, Broadbeach State School, and their host families’ homes.

Next, we went to Broadbeach State School to reconnect with our buddy families. It was a joyous reunion, as it has been a month since they visited us in Japan. After settling into Diamond Beach Apartments, we walked to Pacific Fair Mall. Exploring the supermarket was an eye-opener for the students, who noticed many cultural differences. They discovered new fruits and vegetables, kangaroo steak in the meat section, and even a section offering free fruits for children to promote healthy eating.Dinner at the food court featured Asian-style meals from the Noodle Bar, where students quickly realized the differences in portion sizes compared to back home.It was a long day, especially following an overnight flight, but our students showed resilience and teamwork, supporting each other and appreciating the experience.

Tomorrow promises more excitement as we explore SeaWorld, learn about the environment and conservation, and engage in fun team-building activities.
